Ryan Vincent’s debut collection, Deco Paws, will launch at ICFF in NYC May 2019. Featuring several original designs, the collection unites a deep reverence for art history with a whimsical love of animals. Dogs, cats, and other pet friends inhabit a charming menagerie where fanciful landscapes and lively patterns strike the delicate balance between sincerity and irony. Embracing the remix culture of today, the designs range from appropriated collage to referential homage, that celebrate the rich, ever-expanding history of art.
With an emphasis on wall coverings, the initial release will present a large selection of wallpaper substrate options for each design. Offerings include standard clay papers, eco-friendly non-pvc papers and ez peel & stick removable papers as well as commercial grade textures, metallics and pearl substrates. Pillows, curtains, bedding and other fabric products will also be available and on display.
A crowning feature of Deco Paws is the Add My Pet option which allows you to upload an image of your pet to be showcased in a digitally painted rendition with your chosen designs. Adding your pet is simple, easy and creates a personal, one of a kind touch to your home decor.
At the show, the booth will showcase a tongue-in-cheek mural featuring each design in the collection as if they are being revealed one behind the other in a series of tromple paper rips. Furthering this play in illusion, a Victorian couch upholstered to match the mural will align with the patterns in the wallpaper, optically blending the furniture with its background.
Clever, contemporary, and fun, Deco Paws is the perfect marriage of a niche concept with socially-conscious design. With a portion of proceeds going to the ASPCA, you can be proud your home decor is not only in good taste and good humor but also supports a good cause.
